2008-09 season : QUB finish as the best Irish side at the Euro Club Cup in Greece, with Chris Millar drawing with a 2403 rated IM along the way. The club retain the Silver King for the first time since 1970 (08/09 league reports), and win a Division 1 and 2 double - a feat last achieved in 1969. Steve Scannell rewrites history with a record breaking eighth Ulster Championship win, and the bar blitz phenomenon takes off big time. 2009 News.

 

 

2007-08 season : Another incredible year for QUB Chess. Queen's become Ulster Club Champions with consecutive 5-0 wins against their main two rivals (07/08 league reports). Almost every single piece of individual silverware in UIster chess is won, not to mention success in Dublin and Kilkenny. The QUB Rapid's large and diverse entry produces a French FIDE Master as champion. 2008 News.

 

 

 

2006-07 season : A remarkably successful season sees the Intervarsity side down a superb Trinity team to become Irish Uni Champions, while the league team dominate Belfast League 2 (06/07 league reports). Individually, QUB players claim the Ulster Championship, Nemztov Cup, Henderson Cup, Irish Junior Championship and Ulster U19 Championship amongst other titles .

 

 

 

2005-06 season : The reformed club runs a successful individual tournament, competes in the Irish Uni Championship for the first time in over a decade, and becomes Queen's New Society of the Year.

 

 

 

2002-03 season : Features QUB's winning of the Belfast & District League 1st Division, alongside reports on how Queen's players fared in other team and individual competitions.

 

 

 

2001-02 season : Numerous reports on individual success for club members in Ulster Chess Union competitions and participation in Bunratty, Ireland's largest chess tournament.
