For those of you looking to get involved with chess in Queen’s, there’s probably no better place to start than by coming along to one of the regular club meetings.

This is the ideal opportunity to get an informal introduction the club, officially sign up and get some practice games against others of a similar ability. The current membership ranges from those just learning to play, to experienced and internationally-rated players.

Expert coaching is always on hand for those that know the basics of the game but want to improve. In addition to individualised coaching, the club also offers classes from the likes of 7 times Ulster Champion, Steve Scannell, and former Irish Junior international, Eamonn Walls:
